JumpControl
Your first test video in six steps
Test the complete workflow before the meet under conditions that match the venue.
1. Download
Open JumpControl in the App Store and download the same app on both devices. Open the app after installation.
2. Prepare the devices
Use at least two suitable Apple devices running iOS or iPadOS 16.2 or later. The dedicated Archive is available on iPad only. Charge the devices sufficiently, check available storage, and verify the intended frame-rate and resolution combination on the specific device.
3. Align the Camera
Open Camera on the recording device. Mount Camera securely, as low as practical, and directly in line with the take-off line. Align the green guide with the take-off line and make sure the device is vertical.
4. Connect the Devices and Select a Camera
Open Camera on the recording device and wait for the red status bar. Open Controller on the second device and select the intended Camera. According to the product documentation, the devices do not require Wi-Fi or a shared network to connect. Green means connected and ready to record. If other devices are available in Camera mode, you can select a different Camera in Controller later. This does not promise simultaneous recording with multiple cameras.
5. Record and review
Press and hold the green bar to record video; release it to stop. A quick tap captures a still image only. Review the transferred video in slow motion or frame by frame, then save the attempt information if needed.
6. Save and reset
Mark or save the attempt when needed. Use * to reset Controller before the next recording. Caution: resetting deletes the current recording if it has not been saved. Saved attempts can be opened again in Archive on iPad.
